Screenshot - Jigsaws Galore is serious puzzling fun!
This screen shot (click to enlarge) shows a 96-piece jigsaw being solved, with the pieces randomly scattered and optionally rotated. Notice the
resizable trays for storing and solving portions of the jigsaw. You can create as many as you like and the tray bar has been docked on the right edge of the screen to provide instant access to all trays. The background "ghost" image has been switched on - with this it's like solving the jigsaw on a traditional box lid!
Screenshot - Jigsaws Galore is fun for kids, too
This screen shot (click to enlarge) shows a jigsaw opened with only 9 pieces and set to "wood" thickness, especially for a younger player. Non-essential features have been hidden to keep the solving
area nice and simple. With Jigsaws Galore you can create your own "gift" jigsaws which you can send or e-mail to friends or family.
Would your kids love jigsaw created from their favorite cartoon and movie characters?
Easy! Just hit the "Capture!" button to grab your favorite image
straight off the screen and turn it into a jigsaw.
Screenshot - No more drudgery sorting the pieces...
This screen shot (click to enlarge) shows the "auto
arrange" feature being used to neatly place the pieces around the
edge of the window, leaving a space in the center to solve the puzzle.
The pieces have also been automatically sorted by shape and color.
Notice the four corner pieces conveniently placed in the top left corner, with all the
edge pieces following in a clockwise spiral. Pieces with similar tab
outlines and colors have also been automatically grouped together. No drudgery in
this game!
The adjustable background ghost image has been turned up to a high brightness
setting to make solving a breeze.
Screenshot - fun pieces!
This screen shot (click to enlarge) showcases the range of special fun
pieces, collected into a tray. You have full control over pieces, both
while playing, as shown here and also by setting a preference for all
jigsaws (see below). You can choose the size (from tiny to enormous), the basic shape
from
a choice of six styles and the "oddness factor" which varies
the regularity of pieces from totally identical to very varied.
Setting the pieces to identical (oddness factor = 0) introduces a new challenge since
the jigsaw then has to be solved using picture details alone. If the
jigsaw picture offers little help, increase the oddness and now you
can solve just by matching piece shapes.
Screenshot - preview your jigsaws and set your preferences
This screen shot (click to enlarge) shows the jigsaw
preview screen. Here you can see at a glance the jigsaws in your
various folders. You can also set your preference for difficulty level
from easy, medium, hard or "custom" where you can specify
the number of pieces to suit your ability. You can also set a
preference for piece size to suit your monitor, the style of pieces
you like and the amount of fun shapes to include. From here you can also import or, with
one click, capture an image currently on your screen to make a new
jigsaw (see below).
Notice a "water" skin has been chosen in this shot. Can
you spot a fish-shaped piece? A
number of trays have been created and docked on the right hand side.
Screenshot - creating your own jigsaws is so easy
This screen shot (click to enlarge) shows a new jigsaw being
created. Whether it's an image you like the look of while surfing the
Internet, or your favorite photo from a scanner or digital camera, or
in this example the desktop wallpaper, just hit Capture! or import it
into the game and you'll get to this screen to turn it into a jigsaw.
Choose the number of pieces, the shape and "oddness" (they
can always be changed later), save it and you are done.
Once you have created a new jigsaw you can also turn it into a
self-contained gift which you can send or e-mail to friends. The gift
contains the program code so the recipient doesn't even need a copy of
the game to play it. You can include optional music and a message or
description of the jigsaw.

Enough of the baby
96-piece jigsaws! You're an expert puzzle solver, you want pieces and
you want lots of them. This is where Jigsaws Galore really shines.
Where other jigsaw games grind to a halt, this game takes them in its
stride.
Here's a 1,000 piece jigsaw for starters. It still opens
immediately without any fuss and gives a snappy response from all the
features. Use the trays now to full advantage, create as many as you
like and give them descriptive names. Too much for you? Use the cheat
features for hints or to turn pieces the right way up or to fetch
neighboring pieces automatically. Or just sit back and watch the whole
thing auto-solve itself before your very eyes.
Screenshot - The Big One! 64,000 pieces...
This screen shot (click to enlarge) shows a huge jigsaw with
our current maximum of 64,000 pieces. Ok, we're not suggesting any
sane person would want to do this - we're just doing it because we
can! Read the information box in the screenshot for some interesting
trivia about this monster puzzle.
How would you go about solving this? Well, um, easy! Notice each gumball is a
different color. Use the game's "sort by color" option to
group pieces of similar color together. Grab each group into a tray
and solve a gumball per tray. Then put the gumballs together.
Shouldn't take more than a few months...
